Oil magnate, Femi Otedola has fulfilled his promise of $25,000 to the Super Eagles for the only goal they scored against Algeria in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt.
Recall that Otedola had promised the third-place team reward of $25000 per goal each. Nigeria lost the semi-final match courtesy of Riyad Mahrez’s stoppage-time freekick.
Otedola took to his Twitter page to announce this on Tuesday after receiving some members of the team’s backroom staff and Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo at his office on Tuesday.
“Integrity is keeping your word. I redeemed my pledge of $25000 per goal to representatives of the Super Eagles. On hand (L-R) Chidi Ngoka (Equipment Manager), Enebi Achor (Team Manager) and Defender Kenneth Omeruo today in my office ?? …F.Ote??,” he wrote with a picture of the visitors.

Arsenal Coach Hails Ilechukwu’s Appointment As Heartland Coach
Arsenal Soccer School coach in Dubai, Marcellinus Anyanwu has hailed the appointment of Fidelis Ilechukwu as the new head coach of Heartland football club of Owerri.
Fidelis Ilechukwu left NPFL side, MFM FC after spending thirteen years at the Lagos-based club.
Kamara as he is fondly called was unveiled on Monday as the new head coach of the Naze Millionaires.
Anyanwu said in an exclusive interview with Sportivation that Ilechukwu’s appointment will restore the good old days back to the Owerri based club .
“It is a right step in the right direction.
Heartland is a traditional club, a house hold club in Nigeria and Africa, with the appointment of Ilechukwu they will bounce back again”
“A club that has produced stars like Kanu Nwanwko, Uche Okechukwu, and Ben Iroha”

The Former MFM FC assistant coach also praised the Super Eagles for winning the bronze medal at the just concluded African Cup Of Nations while urging the NFF and the Super Eagles’ coaching crew to beef up the goalkeeping position.
Anyanwu popularly referred to as ‘Marcelo Lippi’ holds a Diploma Certificate in coaching and Training from NIS, he also has an International coaching certificate from the English FA and the Italian FA.
Embattled Super Eagles Winger Victor Moses Gets New Shirt Boost
Former Nigeria international Victor Moses has been allocated his preferred shirt number 11 at Fenerbahce ahead of the 2019-2020 season.
In the second half of last season, the winger wore the number 8 kit following his 18-month loan move from Chelsea.
Moses who has switched shirt number from 8 to 11 and wore the number in pre-season games against Boluspor, Bursaspor, Wolfsburg, Hertha BSC and Bayern Munich.
Turkey international Mehmet Ekici wore the number 11 on the back of his shirt for Fernabahce last season but he is now in the possession of the number 8 kit worn by the Nigerian last season.
Although Moses is predominantly a right-winger, his preferred jersey number is 11 and he played with the number during his time with the Super Eagles, Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic.
The 28-year-old played with the number 12 at Liverpool, wore the number 13 and 20 jerseys at Stoke City and West Ham respectively.
Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal has charged on loan Chelsea winger Victor Moses to be more productive in the new season.
The 28-year-old ended the 2018-19 season with four goals in 14 matches, after making a January transfer to the Istanbul based club.
In a private conversation with the former Nigerian international and Cape Verde star Garry Rodrigues, manager Yanal advised the duo to be close to the penalty area.
‘With your performance, you can determine the fate of the season for us,” Yanal was quoted as saying by SuperFB.
”I will speak openly, so far form is not enough. Both of you have a very high capacity. I expect you to be more productive. I believe you will get better every day.”
Moses was shipped out of Stamford Bridge last season after getting limited playing time under Maurizio Sarri and seems not to be returning to play under new manager, Frank Lampard.
